Our Story

It all started with a conversation — two women who met at a work event, bonded over coffee, and discovered they had far more in common than just their work. Shared values, overlapping hobbies, a deep love for local education, and a mutual frustration with the gaps in support for educators quickly turned into an unexpected but powerful friendship.

Fast forward a few months to a work trip that ended — of all places — on a lazy river. Floating side by side, we found ourselves deep in conversation about equity, teacher burnout, and the big idea that kept bubbling up: What if we actually did something about it?

Between us, we bring years of experience in both education and business, each with our own unique paths, perspectives, passions, and strengths. That moment on the lazy river is when it clicked — together, we could build something better. Something rooted in community, grounded in values, and focused on giving educators the real tools and support they need to thrive.

So in March 2025, we launched EmpowerEd Rhode Island.

We’re two women, born collaborators, driven by a shared belief that educators deserve more — more support, more opportunity, and more joy in the work they do. We believe that strong educators create strong students, and when teachers thrive, schools and communities thrive, too. We believe we’ve found a model that’s a win-win for everyone.

Our work is focused on partnering with public districts, charter schools, and private schools across the state to coach, guide, and empower aspiring and early-career educators. Through personalized coaching, practical development, and clear certification pathways, we’re here to build a stronger, more sustainable educator workforce in Rhode Island.
